Talent spotting just got serious in the ski area of Val Gardena in the Dolomites with a new programme dedicated to local young skiers.
This is a programme for pure talent and is a new sponsorship plan to support the area's own young ski stars throughout the 2017/18 winter season.
It is important for the valley to encourage and support the new talent emerging on the Gardena ski scene and to those who will be part of the Alpine male and female teams in this 2017/2018 season, said Christina Demetz from Val Gardena-Gröden Marketing.
Five young skiers, plus 33-year-old Verena Stuffer, who is a veteran of the ski circuit, are on this winter's programme.
The five are sisters Nicol and Nadia Delago, aged 21 and 19; Vivien Insam, 20; Alex Vinatzer, 17; and Teresa Runggaldier, 18, who is the daughter of former World Cup downhiller Peter Runggaldier.
