The Austrian resort of Galtür has announced a comprehensive package of measures to make the resort's snow-sure slopes even more attractive to families this winter.

High in the Silvretta region of Tirol, Galtür (Galtuer) puts a high premium on family skiing and has worked hard to help make holiday money go further as well as putting together an inventive programme of fun on the slopes for youngsters.

Families including children under 19 can save up to 30 per cent with the Silvapark Family Pass. Galtür, with 40 kilometres of pistes and reliable snow through a long season thanks to its north-facing slopes, has won several international awards for its emphasis on family-friendliness. The resort has also won an award for being one of the best resorts for excellent grooming of runs, another very important factor in attracting families.

All over the skiing area there are features to appeal to children and make skiing even more fun - such as Adventure Lane, including the Enchanted Forest, and Hunters' Trail, the Action Park and Kingdom of Heroes.

Even off the slopes, Galtür keeps the youngsters entertained, with attractions including the indoor adventure swimming pool, which has a 45-metre long adventure slide with light and sound effects.

And for those who just can't get enough time on the slopes, there is night skiing.

Galtür opens on Saturday 3 December, with the season ending on 15 April 2012.
