Motorcyclists are heading for the mountains above the village of Ischgl in the Austrian Tirol next week (6-9 August) for the highest altitude biker meet this summer.
The thrilling hairpin bends and straight valley roads of the Silvretta mountain range in the Alps have become a paradise for motorcyclists since the opening of Ischgl's High-Bike Test Centre five years ago.
Brand new BMW, Ducati, Triumph and KTM bikes can be hired out from the Test Centre during the summer months - and this has proved so popular that next week the area is hosting a four day Biker Summit at 2,300m inviting bikers to bring their own machines to enjoy a packed programme of guided tours, stunt shows, live bands and parties.
Those who prefer to arrive by car can rent out bikes from the Test Centre - early booking is advised!
Stunt shows will feature professional Triumph rider Julien Welsch and KTM freeride stunt driver Dieter Rudolf.
The Biker Summit comes under the banner of Ischgl's successful Top Of The Mountain events, which in winter cover big name concerts, and the programme starts on Thursday 6 August with a roadside alcohol-free welcome drink for all those arriving on the spectacular Silvretta High Alpine Road.
On Friday 7th there are free guided day tours through stunning mountain scenery; the highlight of Saturday 8th is a motorcycle convoy on thrilling mountain roads up to 2,320m.
There will be opportunities for testing, admiring and trying out bikes throughout the whole weekend - as KTM, BMW, Ducati and Triumph motorbikes can be rented out by the hour High-Bike Test Centre. KTM is also providing Freeride Elektro Bikes to try out on the off-road course in the Action Area.
Those who can't wait for the Biker Summit for some bike action can head to Ischgl this week as the 5th Harley Davidson Ischgl Mountain Roadeo is being held from Thursday 30 July to Sunday 2 August.
